The Marotechniek high efficiency Permanent Magnet motors are suitable for, among other things, dredge pump drives. The motor has built-in ‘Permanent Magnets’, eliminating the need to magnetize the rotor. The elimination of reactive current reduces the required current, leading to higher efficiency. Overall, this motor is 4-6% more efficient than the traditional short-circuit anchor motor and is much more compact and lighter in weight. The motors have cooling channels through which water/glycol flows which needs to be cooled by an external heat exchanger.
